Growth Charts

I find so many cool projects on Pinterest!
And I love making them too!
I have a rather large list of things to make someday.
Here is one of those projects!

I started with a 1x8x6 board
Stained one side and edges

After drying overnight,

I went down the board, marking it every one inch. (with pencil)
I then marked each foot with a 3 inch mark
and made 1/4" with a 2 inch mark
and the 1/8" with a 1 inch mark.
Make sense?

Here are my finished projects:
They turned out great! Can't wait to get them up on the wall!

Here they are up closer:

I had a little bit of an unsteady hand at times but they turned out great overall!
Plus if you ever move, you are not leaving your memories behind.

One note with these Growth Charts:
They are a 6 foot board, so I started at the bottom of my board as if it were six inches.
That way my board goes to 6 and a half feet (in case I have tall kiddos)
Then you just have to make sure you measure 6 inches off the floor when you put your chart on the wall.

Also, for the numbers, I just printed off numbers at a 200 pt font, cut them out, traced them onto my board (with pencil) then went over the lines and numbers with a black paint marker.

1 year old Tyler

Tyler was such a crabby butt when he was littler...
but the last month or two a little shining star is coming out!

This child has his moments, who doesn't?
But most days he is a happy happy little boy!

Here is a little more about Tyler at 1 year old!

He LOVES Elmo!
(In case you didn't already know!)
He has only seen Sesame Street for a couple of brief moments though.

He is (about) 23 lbs and 30-ish inches.
(I haven't actually measured him lately. Maybe tomorrow?)
Besides saying mama, dada, bubba and duh-duh (Jada)
He says UH-OH! on a regular basis and "all done"
If you tell him No, he says, "no no no no"
This is accompanied by his head shaking no

A few things he does:

When bath time is over and I start to drain the water, he thinks it's really funny to re plug the drain.
I guess that means he likes the bath?
(Yes, he does LOVE the bath!)

(Let me just say, And I think I am in the minority, that toys that make noise are some of the best toys ever!I keep extra batteries at pretty much all times, because a fun toy, is a happy kiddo!)

For his birthday, Tyler got a ride able fire truck that has a handle you pull and a horn and sirens go off.
HE LOVES THIS THING!
He pulls the handle and looks over at me with the biggest smile!
And a little giggle.
There is nothing better than that!
(Thanks Aunt Katie! I think this is his Favorite toy!)

(One thing about this picture- is I cannot seem to get one with a smile on his face.
As soon as he sees my camera, he's coming for it!)

The other thing with this truck, is that it has a bucket on the back.
Tyler pushes it around and loads it up with his toys,
then when it's full.... He dumps it! :)
Again, another smile. :)

This week Travis has been gone hunting. Tyler is missing his dada.
He pulls the curtain back on the front window, and says, "da?"
It makes me sad....

Tyler does so many fun things, and I try to capture all of these moments.
I am a Lucky LUCKY Mama.

Pumpkin pickin' good!

One of my favorite things EVER, is to head to Greenbluff to pick pumpkins,
get apple cider, and enjoy a cool fall day.

Tyler saying, "Dad, make her stop taking pictures!"

My favorite boys!

What a grown up kiddo!

Tyler and Zach. These boys have my {{Heart}}

Picking the perfect ones!

Then that evening we carved our pumpkins!
Zach carving his pumpkin!

Trav's crazy pumpkin with eyebrows!

All 4 pumpkins!

Tyler's special Elmo pumpkin that daddy made him!
Another fun year at Greenbluff. A little sad that it's a full year away again!

Tyler's world!

Tyler had his 1st Birthday yesterday!
Yep, he is officially one year old!

It's pretty exciting, right?
Except it's a little bitter sweet!
I love having a little teeny baby in the house,
but I love watching my boys grow.
It's a pretty great thing!

Yesterday we got to spend time with our BFF's.
(That's Raylee and Nicki, if you didn't know)
Did I take pictures, you ask?
Remember in the last post I said I have been failing in the picture department?
Sad day....

But I did take Tyler outside later in the afternoon to do our own little photo shoot.
I found a birthday idea on Pinterest (my newest obsession) and wanted to try it out.
I couldn't find one of my wicker baskets... so I used a laundry basket.
Cool, huh? ;)

Here is my little sweetie Pie

This is him wondering why I am putting him in the green stuff. :)

What a Happy Happy boy!

He was doing his "I'm Shy" face. :)

A boy and his brother. Nothing better than this!

Me and my baby! :)

Every kid loves a See n Say!

An Elmo car/steering wheel

I think he remembers this from the other day!

Tyler had a pretty amazing birthday!
This is one LUCKY boy!

Tyler had a birthday party!

We celebrated Tyler's FIRST birthday party this past weekend!
What a great day it was!

Tyler was such a happy boy for his ELMO Birthday celebration.
I have been preparing for a few weeks for this, making the invitations, decorations, and finally, the food.

I had a lot of fun putting everything together! I just forgot to take a before picture of all the decorations!
What a bummer!
I have been failing in the picture taking department lately!
But luckily I got a picture after and you can piece together how it looked!

Here is the Birthday Boy!

He got pretty spoiled with gifts!
Though he was more occupied with other things to notice!

Loving the balloon brother was playing with!

More interested in the string on the last present!

Not liking the Giraffe that Mom, Dad and big brother gave him!

This child had more fascination with the cards than anything else! :)

 But he did enjoy Elmo!

Then it was time for cake!
I made cake pops and cupcake for everyone, but Tyler had a special Rainbow Chip smash cake!

He was very unsure of everyone singing to him!

Looking to Dad to make sure this is okay! :)

He had no problems digging in!

My Family!

The happy birthday boy~!
What a little sweetie pie!

Here are a few of the decorations!

Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster made an appearance!

Lemon cake pops, Snickerdoodle cupcakes and Rainbow chip cupcakes!
Sorry, You missed the mini pizzas made with English muffins!

Big Birds gummy worms, and Elmo's goldfish!
Tyler's banner
Some friends that came to play.

Pom Poms. These poor things were pretty smashed up after falling several times.
A little sweet treat for joining Tyler's fun day!
Finally, a picture of the invitation that was sent out!

Whew! That was a lot of pictures! If you are still with me... Thank you! :)
And THANK YOU  to everyone who joined us for this VERY special day!
